Hola everyone. Back again to help add a little flavor to your life. With the Holiday season in full throttle I will keep this one short and sweet. Just wanted to throw a few ideas out there for everyone in hopes it might bring a little peace and maybe a smile to your day.
Lifestyle Hacks and Improvement
Last time I mentioned using meditation to help reduce your stress and improve your focus. I have just recently started doing this and I must say, me likey!! (You Modern Family watchers might find that funny). At first I thought it was crazy because like most of you I have a hard time turning my head off, and I thought it was a huge waste of time because I felt like I couldn’t do it. But as I continue to learn and practice, it is becoming something I think everyone should try and learn to implement into their lives.
Why I Embraced Meditation
I started off by using a free app – Headspace, I have also tried the app – Calm. Both are great and give you an introduction into the practice of meditation. During this time of year, when things start to get out of control busy and stressful, it is good to find some time to calm yourself and clear your mind if even for 10 min. I would highly recommend looking into it more. There is a million studies out there showing all of the health benefits from it. I have also attached a great video for you busy people and skeptics to watch.
Recipe of the Week
Another self improvement I have been experimenting with.
Titanium Tea (created by Tim Ferriss): This is a spin on Bulletproof Coffee. Either is good, but the tea version has some more health benefits over the coffee.
16-20oz of hot water
Pu’er tea – (steep together with Green tea for 1-2 min)
1/2 – 1 T coconut oil
1/2 – 1 T organic/grass fed butter (start with a smaller amount and see how it does with your bowels, too much can make them loose)
Put all ingredients in a blender and mix together.
Final Step: Enjoy, and you can thank me later for not having an energy crash 30 min later like a normal cup of Joe will cause.
Goings On Around the Office
Thanks to everyone for your toy donations. We had a great turn out this year. It is awesome to know we have such caring patients in our practice.
